93,000 new jobs in the UK IT sector by 2015
Recent research by the Centre for Economics and Business Research reveals that ‘the recession in the business services sector is over’, most visibly in the IT marketplace – which will create 93,000 additional jobs by 2015. The findings of the research show that ‘steady growth’ in business services as a whole, which includes IT, is incoming for the next five years – with annual growth of 2.7%, and that the IT sector specifically is set to enjoy annual growth of 5.1% until 2015. Consultancy is set to grow at a 3.6% annual rate to 2015 and R&D is likewise set for growth of 3.1% from 2012. The CEBR added that the real boost to R&D will come when corporates increase their spending, anticipated thanks to recent tax changes on earnings from intellectual property.
