CBI survey indicates growth in IT spending for services sector
According to a recent CBI survey of 177 consumer-facing services firms, respondents planned to increase efficiency or speed during the coming year often through ‘exploiting new technology’. Upgrades are also on the agenda at consumer services firms such as hotels, airports and retailers – where the pile of cash for new technology investments will climb by 31%. Even organisations that do not expect to grow their business over the coming year will still invest more in computing – all of which is great news for IT contractors. The survey also found that business and professional services firms have much healthier growth prospects, and will also boost IT spending in the coming year.
