Coronavirus Job Retention Bonus: Further Information Released
It’s Small Business Saturday tomorrow, and the Professional Contractors Group (PCG) are urging all contractors to join in with the celebration.
This year will see the first ever Small Business Saturday in the UK, which is being held on one of the busiest shopping days of the year – the first Saturday in December!
Although traditionally an American event, the day has now come to the UK in order to support small businesses, and will encourage people to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities, both on the Saturday and beyond.
PCG Chief Executive Chris Bryce, said, “We hope that freelancers across the UK get involved in Small Business Saturday in any way they can to showcase the amazing work they do.
“Freelancers are unique in that they have double cause for celebration on Saturday. Not only are they the smallest of small businesses but they also make a massive contribution to the growth and prosperity of the many SMEs that they count as clients.
“That’s why I say to freelancers, get involved and celebrate on Small Business Saturday. You’ve earned it!”
John Allan, Federation of Small Businesses National Chairman also commented, “Small Business Saturday has enjoyed enormous success in the US, and we hope that UK consumers will be encouraged, not only to ‘shop local’ but also to appreciate all the small businesses in their communities.
“The day will shine a spotlight on the fantastic range of independent small businesses in the UK on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year.
“Whilst small firms need support 365 days a year, this day is a welcome boost for many and will introduce the public to a business they may well go on to support in the future.”
