IT contractor demand has increased for the third successive quarter
IT contractors will be pleased to hear that IT vacancies among contractors and permanent workers alike, increased at the end of last year.
The report, carried out by online IT recruitment website, CWJobs.co.uk, found that there has been a strong overall performance across the entire industry.
According to the CWJobs.co.uk report, growth in IT vacancies has mainly being driven by recruitment for software house roles, with 64% of all vacancies advertised being in this field.
Contractors with IT skills will also be interested to hear that there was also a high demand for IT workers with SQL, and demand for Agile also increased by 3.2%.
Website Director of CWJobs.co.uk, Richard Nott, said, “The IT industry is strengthening. The sector faces challenges if it is to continue to grow, the demand is clear but with that, comes greater competition for roles and an even greater need for quality candidates to fill these vacancies.
“IT is now a fundamental part of the business operation, so firms demand more from the modern tech candidate. IT pros need to better demonstrate their suitability for roles if they are to compete, highlighting desirable attributes such as an apptitutde for adopting new skills quickly, business acumen and an ability to manage complex relationships.”
