Non-permanent staff a key focus for many employers
The latest Jobs Outlook data from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has found that 33% of employers are looking to expand their workforces within the next 12 months, and that 93% of those taking part in the REC study said that they are hoping to either retain or increase the number of non-permanent staff in place. Jobs Outlook is based on a monthly sample survey of 200 employers undertaken by an independent market research company on behalf of the REC.
At the same time, in a mail on Sunday article, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has told contractors that it is not necessary to pay for information about supply contracts on a new non-government website called supplygov.co.uk, as the documents can be found for free elsewhere. The confusion follows the closure of supply2gov.uk. which, until March, was the official site for firms wanting details of state contracts regionally, for free, and nationally at an annual fee.
