Coronavirus Job Retention Bonus: Further Information Released
Oil and Gas Contractors in the UK’s Continental Shelf (UKCS) may see an improvement in future prospects. This is despite the somewhat negative sentiment expressed in the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s (AGCC) 24th Oil and Gas Survey.
The report states decommissioning and renewable energy as a potential source of new contracts in the North Sea. With 85% and 63% respectively, of Oil and Gas contractors expecting to become more involved within the North Sea in the coming months.
Operations cut 15% of their permanent workforce in the previous 12 months, contributing to a skills shortage within the sector. Half of the survey’s respondents identified these unaddressed shortages as one of the factors currently constraining businesses.
With the talent pool decreasing and the concern over skills shortages building, contractors could find that they benefit from these new types of contracts and perhaps even be considered as vital in securing the future of UK’s Oil and Gas sector.
If you work within the oil and gas sector and feel that now is the right time to make the move to contracting, then call our new business team on 01442 330258 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
