The celebrations for this year’s National Freelancers Day are being put into motion with a series of ground breaking films, which will be completed within a single week starting from the 23rd June.

National Freelancers Day, which will be held on Wednesday 21st November 2012, will be co-sponsored bycontractor accountant specialists Brookson and the Professional Contractors Group (PCG).

With the 1.6 million contractors in the UK currently contributing £82 billion to the country, this day will celebrate the freelancers in Britain today with a series of seven five minute films created by freelance producer Rob Edwards and a team of freelance specialists.

The films will creatively bring to life, key aspects of freelancing and from a variety of perspectives: the client’s view, how freelancers add value, what it means to be a freelancer, how to do it properly, and how freelancing can benefit the graduate community, amongst others.

Talking of the project Rob Edwards commented, “Freelancing is a growing and vital aspect of the business landscape but there is still so much more we can do to help people get into freelancing and educate businesses on just how much contract workers can contribute. That’s what we’re aiming to do with 7 Days in June and it’s why we’ve taken on such an ambitious project!”

PCG’s MD John Brazier said, “All our research shows that freelancing is increasingly recognised as a vital force for innovation and growth in the economy. The better it is understood, the greater its impact will be. That is why we felt it was very important to support this project and the team of dedicated freelancers behind it.”
