Scottish job market continues to grow
According to the latest Bank of Scotland Report on Jobs, the number of jobs available in Scotland continued to increase during May and a rise in both contract and permanent vacancies was witnessed. All eight categories of contract employment recorded rises, suggesting that client demand is improving in the contractor marketplace. Donald MacRae, chief economist at Bank of Scotland, said the Scottish labour market appeared to be in recovery and the headline index reading remains solid, so we could expect to see ‘a continuing recovery from recession’.
Last month’s Recruitment and Employment Confederation Report on Jobs showed further growth in the UK’s contractor jobs sector.
