SJD Accountancy, the UK’s largest specialist accountancy firm for contractors and freelancers, today announces that it has been appointed by the IMA Institute as a partner supplier of accountancy services.

The IMA Institute is a professional body for Interim Managers and represents individual membership of the Interim Management Association (IMA) as well as of the Institute itself– recognising an individual’s professional competence and credibility with the letters M.I.M.A. after their name.

The IMA Institute was launched to provide Interim Managers with accountable and professional representation for the first time, through the Interim Management Association (IMA), the chief trade body for Interim Management in the United Kingdom. It gives members access to IMA providers and to independently-accredited educational resources and competency benchmarking, as well as a range of quality benefits, specifically targeted for the Interim Management market. Simon Dolan, Managing Partner of SJD Accountancy, explains further:

“Becoming an Interim Manager and leaving a full time job can be a difficult decision, but for many it can be very rewarding. We all know the benefits of such a choice – more money, more freedom, more of doing the types of job you love, plus far more work/life balance options.

However, the decision to go into Interim Management doesn’t come without its challenges, and many people find the whole ‘work option’ choice quite mind boggling. You can work through an agency, opt for PAYE, use an umbrella company or work through your own limited company. The latter of these options is the most efficient and lucrative route, but it’s also the one which most people know the least about – often assuming that it will be far too complicated and admin intensive. Yet any accountant or tax advisor will tell you that trading through your own limited company is the most tax efficient option possible.

Choosing an accountant can seem like a daunting task, as there are literally thousands across the UK – which is why we’re extremely pleased to have been appointed by the IMA Institute as a primary supplier of accountancy services. This recognition reinforces our status as the UK’s largest specialist provider of fixed fee, limited company accountancy services to contractors and freelancers – and enables new and existing Interim Managers to make an informed decision about where to go for their accountancy support.”
