UK demand for IT services to Increase
A recently-released report from leading market intelligence organisation, the International Data Corporation (IDC), claims that demand for IT services will pick up in the UK, Germany and the Nordics at a quicker rate than the rest of Western Europe.
The firm’s study showed that whilst total demand for IT services will ‘remain flat’ in 2010, the Western European market is expected to see annual growth of 3.4 per cent between 2010 and 2014. As a result, sole traders and small businesses offering IT services in the UK could benefit from the country’s ‘higher propensity’ to outsource, it has been claimed.
Laura Converso, Research Manager of IDC European Software and Services, commented: ”Demand for projects and outsourcing will pick up towards the second half of 2010. We expect the ‘growth agenda’ to return slowly, bringing investments in business intelligence and industry-specific solutions, as well as the global rollout of applications, when these solutions can support business growth, towards the end of the year.”
